Gail (Latterell) Pruitt passed away unexpectedly on April 26. Gail attended St. Albert the Great school, Palo Alto High School, Foothill College and San Francisco State University. She had worked at the Peninsula Times Tribune, Prudential Healthcare, Klutz Press and Intuit. In 1991, Gail was able to connect with her biological parents (Elaine Freeman and Tony Montemeyer). She established strong bonds with both of them, as well as their families.

Gail was predeceased by her father, Phil Latterell, her mother, Cathy Latterell and Elaine Freeman. She leaves behind her brother, Clark Latterell, nieces Dana Latterell and Lauren Latterell, nephews Jesse Latterell, John Latterell and Jacob Armstrong , her sister-in-law Katherine Dewitt Latterell and a large number of other relatives, as well as her two beloved dogs, Cody Ross and Castile and her much loved cat, Dameon.

Gail loved fresh flowers, poetry, the band Styx, the Raiders and the Giants but, most of all, her love for Dana and Lauren was beyond compare. She was able to provide them with the best (yet unconventional) childhood memories. These included numerous trips to Pismo Beach.

Twelve years ago, Gail relocated to Reno, NV. Just like her Mother, Cathy, Gail had a strong love and affection for animals. When she wasn’t working, she volunteered at the SPCA in Reno where she was recognized by the State of Nevada for her service.

She had recently moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where she spent many summers of her youth and where she intended on retiring and enjoying her golden years gardening as well as spending time with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Palo Alto on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Villalobos Rescue Center or Planned Pethood International.
