Sue passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 20, 2023 at 97 years. She was a native San Franciscan born on June 30, 1926 where she attended Lowell High School and City College of San Francisco.
During her teenage years, she was a junior California tennis champion winning numerous tournaments throughout the West Coast, including the USTA National Hardcourt Championship with her sister, Bea.
After working as an office manager in the construction industry, Sue raised her oldest children in the City before moving to Menlo Park to raise her youngest. Many of her fondest memories were restarting her tennis career at the Olympic Club in Lakeside, then spent many years at Alpine Hills Swim and Tennis Club in Portola Valley.
She enjoyed tennis, cooking, reading, walking, gardening, current events and all things sports. She faithfully attended church throughout her life with St. William Catholic Parish in Los Altos her most recent place of worship.
Sue loved her family and had many wonderful friends from all phases of her life that she kept in touch with after moving to San Diego five years ago. She was known for being a vibrant, funny and positive person, always celebrating achievements and birthdays.
She leaves behind three children, Bill (Penny), Kathy (Casey), Corey (Michael), six grandchildren, Tom, Daniel (Chamee), Jackie (Matt), Chelsea (Scott), Haley (Mike) and Steven and one great-grandchild (Luke).
