Donald Niederhaus passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023. He was born in San Francisco on April 1, 1941, the son of Ed and Betty Niederhaus. Don graduated from San Mateo High School in 1959 and was active in school government and swimming. He earned his degree in Industrial Management from UCSB in 1963. Don established Cold Storage Manufacturing in 1976 and grew his business 40+ years with his hard work, integrity and dedication to his customers. During retirement, Don enjoyed remodeling projects, woodworking, travel, long walks, reading and volunteering in the community. Don took every opportunity he could to bring happiness to those around him. He was a loving husband, adored father, and devoted to his family and friends.

Don is survived by his children, Heidi Collins (Tony), Kirsten Kim (Sam) and Greg Niederhaus; step-daughters Karen Mehringer and Kris Bidwell; grandchildren Chris, Nicholas, Tori, Miranda, John and Brenna; sister, Judy Hilger (Marv) and sister-in-law Jan Mignacco. He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon Niederhaus, parents Ed and Betty, and brother Ken Niederhaus. A celebration of Don's life will be held in September.
