A Mountain View man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to a downtown stabbing over the weekend that left two wounded, police said in a statement Wednesday.
Officers arrested Josue Hernandez, 23, after serving a search warrant at a home on the 400 block of Burgoyne Street on March 10. He was booked into Santa Clara County jail.
Police say they received reports of a fight in the downtown area, near the intersection of Villa Street and Wild Cherry Lane, around 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 7. Two people suffered stab wounds before officers arrived, and were treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The assailant could not be found at the time.
During the altercation, police say Hernandez had gotten into an argument, and that he stabbed one of the victims who attempted to intervene.
