Update: City Council candidate forums

October will be a busy month for City Council candidate forums, including a new one this election year organized by Peninsula Interfaith Action, rescheduled from Sept. 25 to Friday, Oct. 10, so as not to conflict with the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.

The PIA event will feature housing issues as the main topic of discussion and will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 748 Mercy St. at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Mountain View.

The Old Mountain View Neighborhood Association will hold a candidate forum at the Mountain View Public Library Community Room on 585 Franklin St. on Monday, Oct. 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Mountain View's cable access channel KMVT 15 is hosting a live debate on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will be streamed online live as well as broadcast on live on Comcast channel 15 and AT&T U-verse channel 99

A candidate forum organized by residents of the Whisman area will be held at the California Station Clubhouse on Pacific Drive on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., according to Whisman Station resident Bruce England.

It's too bad the League of Woman Voters forum is so early. Women work late these days too, couldn't it start a little later like the others?
