State assembly candidates to meet in forum

California primary election to take place June 3

Three candidates for the 24th State Assembly will meet in a forum Thursday, May 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Palo Alto Council Chambers, 250 Hamilton Ave.

The candidates are Dian Gabl, an intellectual-property attorney and Republican; Rich Gordon, Democrat and current 24th District assemblymember; and Greg Coladonato, a Democrat and Mountain View resident who chairs the city's Human Relations Commission.

The candidates are competing in California's statewide primary election on Tuesday, June 3. The assembly district includes portions of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, including the cities of Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, Mountain View, Woodside, Portola Valley, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Sunnyvale.

Thursday's free public forum is sponsored by the Leagues of Women Voters of Palo Alto, Los-Altos-Mountain View Area, Cupertino-Sunnyvale and South San Mateo County. Co-sponsors are the Palo Alto Weekly, Palo Alto Online, Palo Alto AAUW and the Midpeninsula Community Media Center.
