Residents evacuated in 1-alarm apartment fire

Firefighters battled a one-alarm blaze at an apartment complex in Mountain View this afternoon, a fire department spokeswoman said.

At about 2 p.m., fire officials received reports that flames were seen coming out of the windows of a multi-unit apartment building in the 800 block of Park Drive, near Miramonte Avenue and McKelvey Park, according to Mountain View fire spokeswoman Jaime Garrett.

Firefighters arrived at the residence and extinguished the second-floor blaze. No injuries were reported but numerous residents were evacuated from the complex, Garrett said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Garrett.
