The sisters behind Palo Alto's Tamarine are opening a Vietnamese fast-casual restaurant in Mountain View

Uploaded: Jan 9, 2020
In a sign of the times, the owners of a longtime white-tablecloth Vietnamese restaurant, Tamarine, are setting their sights on a fast-casual concept.

Sisters Tanya Hartley and Tammy Huynh, who together run Tamarine in Palo Alto, are opening a fast-casual Vietnamese eatery at The Dean in Mountain View. The new mixed-use development is on 400 San Antonio Road, near the Icon movie theater and Village at San Antonio shopping center.

At the unnamed restaurant, diners will order at a counter and food will brought to tables, Hartley said. Menu details were not yet available.

This September, the Tamarine co-owners expanded for the first time with Tam Tam, a more casual but still full-service Vietnamese restaurant located on the other end of University Avenue. (They had been planning to go fast-casual but were offered the large corner space, which they decided was better suited to a full-service restaurant.)

Hartley said they're hoping to open in Mountain View in May or June. Stay tuned for more details.
