Eat Your Values – August 15

Uploaded: Aug 10, 2019

What does it mean to eat with your values, and how do we build a food system that reflects those values? How do we create a system that is healthy and flavorful for us, for the land, for the people who grow and prepare the food, and for our local economy? While it may be hard to consider all of these things when choosing what to eat, there is great benefit in doing so.

Join food experts Jesse Ziff Cool (Restaurateur, Flea St Café, Cool Cafe), Sibella Kraus (Executive Director, SAGE – Sustainable Agriculture Education), Peter Ruddock (President, Slow Food California) and Blair Thompson (Animal Husbandry Manager, Hidden Villa) for a talk about these issues and more.

The talk is free, but please register to make sure there is space for everyone.

I'm not sure what the presentation will cover, but, I eat my values by eating "organic" when possible, for two reasons:

1) The impact of pesticides on agricultural workers: Web Link

2) The impact of pesticides on many non-target insect species such as bees and butterflies: Web Link
