Frozen Grapes?

Uploaded: Jul 31, 2019

The dog days of summer are headed our way, with hot days and long nights. If it gets a bit too toasty for you, here’s a summer snack everyone loves – Frozen Grapes.

We’ve chilled down grapes before as their drier counterparts (raisins) in 2014’s Boobie Burka, but here’s the fresher version. You can find grapes at most farmers markets now; with intense sweetness and focused flavor, they are in their prime. Just lay on a tray and freeze overnight for the perfect afternoon snack.

Grapes don’t maintain this crisp, frosty state for long, so best to pass a small bowl around to your guests, and after that’s gone, go get more from the freezer.

Here’s to August Food Parties!
Community.
What is it worth to you?

In the 70's as a kid I remember Joe Carcioni, AKA the Green Grocer who used to to food spots on the local news, talk about freezing thompson seedless grapes for Summer. I've been doing it ever since. Frozen grapes are very fun; like all natural micro Otter Pops bites.

Frozen persimmons are great too. Freeze them when they're in season, they keep for months, slice with a sharp knife and it's like eating slices of sorbet.
