About Malea
Malea Martin covers the City Hall beat in Mountain View. Before joining the Mountain View Voice in 2022, she covered local politics and education for New Times San Luis Obispo, a weekly newspaper on the Central Coast of California.

Malea was born in San Diego but spent most of her life in San Luis Obispo before heading back to SoCal to attend Claremont McKenna College. She graduated in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Literature and Government, plus a minor in Human Rights Studies. In her free time, Malea enjoys trail running, tending to her growing army of houseplants, and scouring antique stores for unique vintage finds.
