About John
John Bricker joined the Palo Alto Weekly in 2022. He edits and writes stories about life in Palo Alto, with a focus on features, arts and special publications. He also leads the Weekly’s team of editorial interns.
A California native, John grew up in San Jose and graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism after transferring from De Anza College. Before joining Embarcadero Media, he edited social media and the newsletter for San José Spotlight, a nonprofit online publication covering local news. Throughout college, he worked in student newsrooms as a reporter, opinion editor, executive producer and advertising creative director. He follows God, plays guitar and will not stop listening to and raving about his favorite music.
