Mountain View company Quixey builds search engine for apps

To the casual observer, the race to be the world's No. 1 search engine has been handily won. Google has clenched it, right?

But what if you don't want to search the entire web? What if you want to narrow your quest?

Many startups in Silicon Valley are building specialized search engines, and much has been made about social search -- using social media trends to deliver relevant content. Google has just launched +1, for example.

In that vein Quixey is building a search engine that helps users find applications -- apps, if you will -- based upon what they want to do.

By asking the simple question, "What do you want to do?", Quixey aims to retrieve a list of relevant apps for users.

If you want to find the best local restaurant, for example, Quixey might recommend Yelp. Need gas? The search engine's creators say Quixey can deliver apps that will compare gas stations and their prices in your immediate area.

"In that vein Quixey is building a search engine..."

I think you need a comma after "In that vein..."

Then put it in Bubble_Head...yes, put it in. Sheesh.

I think you need an exclamation mark after "Sheesh."
