Google takes record number of applications, plans to hire record number of new employees

According to a [Web Link recent article in the San Francisco Chronicle], the company received more than 75,000 applications last week alone, breaking the last company record, which was set in 2007.
Fortunately, for those who have applied, Google is planning to increase it's workforce significantly in 2011 -- saying last week that it planned to hire more than 6,000 workers this year, more than any other year in its history.
