Voices Around Town

What law would you like to see passed by Congress in 2013?

Asked in downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Ashley Finden.

"I think if I was to see Congress pass a law it would have to do with closing down Guantanamo Bay because I think they're treating people pretty inhumanely."

Bonnie Zavon, Mountain View

"Next year I'd like to see universal health care passed."

Bonnie Filipovic, Palo Alto

"Next year I would like to see more funding for education programs as opposed to administration."

Caroline Ouyang, Los Altos

"The law I would (like to) see Congress pass in 2013 would be to legalize marijuana. And I think at this point that it's making its way to other states and it should be on the same level as alcohol because it should be regulated."

Dimitri Celis, Sunnyvale

"Something done regarding the deficit. I would like to see an improvement towards their just Congress doing something about their spending and being more amicable and working together rather than fighting with each other."

Katherine Kodiak, Naperville, Ill.
