Caltrain to resurface tracks this week

Bookmark and Share
Caltrain crews will resurface the tracks between the Menlo Park and San Antonio stations from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. this week, through Friday, Feb. 22.

Some construction noise is expected, but there will be no passenger delays, according to a Caltrain statement.

Resurfacing corrects uneven alignment of rails caused over time by compression of the ballast under the tracks. It reduces jerks experienced by passengers and lessens the mechanical strain on the rails, according to the Caltrain website.
