Talk: 'Supernova Shock Waves: Powerhouses of the Galaxy'
Yasunobu Uchiyama, a scientist at the joint SLAC/Stanford University Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology, will give a talk on exploding stars, or supernovas, and on how their remnants act as giant particle accelerators. The talk is at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Nov. 27, in the Panofsky Auditorium at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, 2575 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park.
