Napa earthquake delays Caltrain service

Caltrain service is likely to be delayed this morning while the rail system inspects the northern portion of its tracks following the 6.1-magnitude earthquake that struck southern Napa County.

The earthquake hit around 3:20 a.m., three miles northwest of American Canyon, the U.S. Geological Survey reports.

Caltrain service has started operating out of San Jose, and rail officials report that all bridge structures between San Francisco and Redwood City have been cleared for operation.

Additionally, Caltrain will still provide special service to the second 49ers pre-season game today at the new Levi's Stadium.

However, ACE is canceling its special 49ers service as a result of the earthquake.
